Field technicians who install clean and close cleanly.

We're hiring experienced alarm, smart home, and internet installation technicians for a full-time, in-home field role in the London area. Technical craft and professional customer conversation both matter here.

London, ON Full-time Field + in-home Install + sales
The Opportunity

A full-time installation role with a real sales layer.

Fusion Alarms is growing its field team in the London area. This is a hands-on installation role — cameras, alarms, smart home hardware, internet and TV setups, low-voltage cabling, and clean, professional finish work in customers' homes. It also includes a real sales layer: while you're in a home, you're expected to listen, spot what's missing, and recommend the right additions with confidence.

The people who do well here are already strong technicians, already comfortable talking to homeowners, and already proud of the way their work looks when they leave.

Who We're Looking For

Real technicians who can run a room as well as a cable.

Field experience

Real install background.

Alarm, security camera, smart home, internet/TV, or low-voltage experience. You've been in customers' homes. You know how to route cable cleanly, mount hardware straight, and walk away with the job looking planned — not improvised.

Install standards

You care about how the work looks.

Tidy runs. Smart placement. Finished edges. Clear customer handoff. You care whether it powers on and whether it looks like it belongs there. The install is the signature.

In-home sales

Comfortable closing on the spot.

You can read a home, understand what the customer is missing, and recommend additional services or upgrades in a way that feels helpful — not pushy. You're comfortable closing on the spot.

Professional presence

Reliable, clean, and direct.

On time. Clean appearance. Clear communication. Respectful of the home. Confident with both the technical side and the conversation in front of the homeowner.

Responsibilities

What you'll do day to day.

  • Install and configure alarm systems, cameras, smart home devices, and internet/TV equipment in residential properties across the London area
  • Route, terminate, and conceal low-voltage cabling to a clean finish
  • Program panels, apps, sensors, and connected devices and walk the customer through the full handoff
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and take over existing systems when needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer's setup and recommend the right upgrades or additional services in the home
  • Close add-on sales professionally and document them correctly
  • Handle your own vehicle, tools, inventory, and route discipline
  • Keep every job photographed, scoped, and reported back to ops cleanly
  • Represent Fusion Alarms' standards in every home you enter
Requirements

What you need to bring.

  • Prior hands-on experience installing alarm, security camera, smart home, internet, TV, or low-voltage systems
  • Comfortable speaking with homeowners and presenting paid upgrades or add-on services
  • Valid Ontario G or G2 driver's licence
  • Reliable personal vehicle suitable for field work
  • Your own trade tools (drill, impact, fish tape, tester, hand tools, ladder, safety gear)
  • Professional appearance and in-home manner
  • Clean criminal record check on request
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Based in, or within a reasonable drive of, London, Ontario
  • Able to commit to a full-time schedule including some Saturdays
Preferred qualifications

Nice to have — not required.

  • Experience with TELUS SmartHome+, ADT, Alarm.com, Qolsys, 2GIG, DSC, Honeywell/Resideo, Hikvision, Dahua, Ubiquiti, or similar platforms
  • Background in alarm monitoring, locksmith, CCTV, structured cabling, or telecom install
  • Prior residential in-home sales or upsell experience
  • ESA / CEC low-voltage work exposure
  • Smart-home certification (Control4, Savant, URC) a plus
  • Fall protection, working-at-heights, WHMIS training
Field Technician + Sales Mindset

Two things that go together in this role.

The install

Craft first.

Mount straight, route clean, terminate right, test everything, and hand it off so the customer feels confident using it. Your name is on every panel you close up.

The upsell

Honest observations, not a script.

If the customer has coverage gaps, weak Wi-Fi, an exposed entry, or a missing camera angle, you say so, explain why, and give them the option to fix it while you're already there.

Professional Tools, Professional Standards

What you're expected to show up with.

  • Own reliable vehicle for daily field work
  • Cordless drill + impact + bit set
  • Fish tape, glow rods, stud finder
  • Network tester and tone-and-probe
  • Ladder and fall-safety gear
  • Multimeter and basic hand tools
  • Clean uniform / appearance on every job
  • Phone and charger for job photos and documentation
